Having written creatively since childhood, particularly in poetry, I was powerfully inspired to write ‘The Colours of the Sky’ when I first went to live in Tarskavaig, Isle of Skye; as romantic as it may sound, the story first came to me in a dream, waking me in the small hours and lead me to virtually fill a notebook with my first ideas before breakfast! Telling the evocative story of one girl’s life, ‘The Colours of the Sky,’ is set against the backdrop of Scotland in the late 1800’s, where hope is shown for the fragile, life-saving elixir that it is – where struggles faced then, both physical and personal, are as relevant to our hearts today as they were real to the people whose journey’s we follow.
‘The Colours of the Sky’ is the first in a trilogy, the second of which, ‘The Colours of the Heart,’ is soon to be in print.
