Corsewall Aurora

Corsewall Aurora

The 26th February 2023 saw a powerful display of the Aurora Borrealis (Northern Lights). I drove to Corsewall at the northernmost end of the Rhins of Galloway in order to avoid the lights of Stranraer. After two or three hours I decided to call it a night. Unfortunately as I was returning to the car I tripped over and fell and my pinky finger was bent sideways – Very ouch!  Thankfully after going to A&E and a strong dose of Cocodamol the morning X-Ray revealed I had only dislocated it and not broken it. Without thinking at the time I straightened it and it made a snapping sound. I never took the glove off till I got to A&E. So glad I got some nice pics of the Aurora though I probably missed the peak of the solar storm. This shot is looking North up to Arran. The foreground is a rock pool and on the horizon you can see the lighthouse lights of the Mull of Kintyre, Sanda, and Ailsa Craig.
