Moon over Luce Bay

Moon over Luce Bay

Moon shots are very difficult to get right in Landscapes. The reason is that the moon itself has such a dynamic range difference from the darkened land. Many light stops of difference make it impossible to get a usable image with both the moon correctly exposed and the land. The best time as my previous post outlines is before it gets too dark. This image taken from Kirkmaiden overlooking Luce Bay was an attempt to capture a nice moon landscape but the moon appeared late because of the far band of cloud and the shot was not what it could have been.

Never mind – I’ll get it one of these evenings.
